FAQs

Ordering

Q: Does HTA sell directly to the public?

HTA is a wholesale company. We do not sell direct to the public or give pricing on our products.

We encourage you to deal directly with our authorized dealers for pricing and all enquiries. Contact us to find a HTA Dealer near you.

Q: Are finish colours accurate?

We do our best to accurately show each piece’s finish colours on our the website images. However, colours can vary by personal perception, monitor type and age, video card differences and printing variations. Also, beware that some of our designs are constructed from stained natural timber or finished with timber veneers. Timber products, by nature, will sometimes have variations in colour and wood grain from one piece of furniture to the next. This is to be expected with any wood product and is not considered faulty.

Receiving your furniture

Q: What if my shipment arrives damaged?

In the rare event that your shipment is damaged during transit, be sure to note it on the delivery paperwork that you sign and contact the store where you purchased it from immediately. If the carton is severely damaged, you should refuse the shipment from the freight company and take imagery evident. Your dealing store will contact us to sort out the replacement order to be sent out ASAP.

Assembling your furniture

Q: Is it difficult to assemble the furniture?

Ready-to-Assemble Furniture is designed with the consumer in mind.  Once you have received your new furniture, there are easy to follow Assembly Instructions in the package.  In the unlikely event that you run into difficulties, we can arrange for a professional service partner to assemble your goods for you.

Q: Can I put casters on the unit I purchased or modify it in any way?

If the unit you purchase does not come with casters (wheels), then it is unsafe to put them on. Adding casters on a unit can alter the“tip stability factor” of the unit, meaning that it would increase the possibility of the unit tipping forwards or backwards, thereby posing a risk to you, your family and pets, the unit itself and any equipment that may be on or in the unit.

Also, adding casters to the unit constitutes product modification, resulting in the warranty being voided as it would mean the unit is being used in a different way from that originally intended. HTA cannot be held responsible or liable for any accident or hazard caused by any modification to the product.

Q: Can a unit be painted a different colour?

No! Paint does not adhere properly to the laminates used on our furniture. Also, as most paint contains some form of corrosive, painting the unit may cause the laminate to peel, possibly damaging or exposing the particleboard underneath. The broad range of laminates, styles and colours we offer should make it unnecessary to paint a unit.

Q: Can I use glue to construct a piece of furniture?

If glue is not listed in the Instructions then no glue is necessary. If your Assembly Instructions list a bottle of glue, it will be necessary to use glue at some point in the assembly. Please only use the glue that came with your unit. Use of different glue may prevent the disassembly of the unit and will void your warranty.
